Did you know goldfish crackers are the leading cause of cavities in little ones? As a "slightly crunchy" mom, I get so frustrated trying to find healthy snacks and foods for my toddler. There are so many commercial products that are filled with unnecessary sugar, food dyes, and preservatives. I try to stick to whole food options and clean ingredients.

My 22 month old's preferences are constantly changing, however here are a few of my go to snacks that my girl loves with ingredients that mama loves!

  • Amara Organic Smoothie Melts

-No added sugar, safe for babies 9 months and up, easy to travel

  • Serenity Kids Grain Free Puffs

-No added sugar, gluten and rice free, made with organic cassava, veggies, and herbs

  • Annie's Organic Cheddar Bunnies

  • Fresh Bellies freeze dried fruit (my toddler especially loves the dried mango)

  • Homemade organic gummies (recipe below)

  • Homemade smoothies (frozen banana, strawberries, greek yogurt, whole organic milk, hemp or chia seeds)

  • Fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, bananas, kiwi, plums, watermelon, really whatever is in season and organic if possible!)

Homemade Organic Gummies

  • 1 cup Organic juice of your choice (my girl loves pomegranate, blueberry, and mango juices)

  • 1.5 tablespoon of Protein Essentials Grass-fed beef gelatin powder

  • Silicone gummy candy molds with droppers

Pour the juice in a small pot and sprinkle the beef gelatin powder on top. Do not stir until all the powder has sunk into the juice or it will cling to your spoon or whisk. Gently stir on low heat until powder has dissolved. Do not boil or simmer. Remove from heat, cool slightly. Use dropper to fill silicone molds and refrigerate 30min-1 hour or until set. Keep refrigerated. Once set, transfer gummies to a storage container. Will keep for one week but they usually don't last long!

*These are a delicious treat for your child and are a great source of amino acids and collagen. Beef gelatin is high in proline and glycine, which is fantastic for skin, hair, and nails. Gelatin is also powerful in healing digestive issues and promoting gut health.
